Grace

A classically trained dancer for more than 20 years, Grace found that yoga filled the void that dance left in her heart and spirit. A wife, mother of three and present owner and director of Midtown Yoga, she values all aspects of yoga both on and off the mat. She is a certified E-RYT 200, and her desire for more playfulness and beauty of flow drove her to train in aerial yoga as well as to receive certification in AcroYoga. Her study of Ayurveda, through the Himalayan Institute, has opened her eyes to the world of self love, care and healing. Lifelong Memphian, Grace is committed to the continued growth of Midtown Yoga as well as to the entire Memphis Yoga community!



Grace instructs the following:
  • Flow with Grace
  • This dynamic Vinyasa practice will leave you feeling strong and energized! A slightly elevated pace combined with pranayama breathing exercises will lift the heart rate and increase the flow of prana. Take time to wind down at the end of class with savasana, providing nourishment to the mind, body and spirit. While arm balances, inversions and backbends have a place in this class, modifications and variations are always offered.  Int/Adv level.


  • AcroYoga
  • AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of therapeutics, and the dynamic power of acrobatics.  These three lineages form the foundation of a unique practice that cultivates trust, connection and playfulness.  Building upon the framework of cultivating skillful partnership, AcroYoga provides a vehicle to explore positive and supportive relationships with an emphasis on honest, clear and compassionate communication.  The practice inherently creates a strong bond and fosters a sense of community among the participants.  This class is partner work including a base, a flyer and a spotter.  Our aim is to provide a safe area to practice and to play.  No partner necessary.  No experience necessary.  Open level.

  • Acro Jam Class
  • This class is for those students with experience in AcroYoga. It will be an opportunity to jam with other acroyogis in a safe environment. This class is not appropriate for students brand new to AcroYoga.

  • Vinyasa
  • Vinyasa means "flow" or merging movement with the breath. These classes focus on breathing and seek to move students through a sequence of postures as the breath flows in and out. Using this breath, heat or "tapas" warms the body allowing the practitioner to move deeper into postures and eventually deeper into their own personal practice. Vinyasa yoga increases strength, stamina and flexibility while calming and steadying the mind. This class style is inherently diverse and sequencing will vary with each instructor's personal flavor. Open level.


  • Beginner Basics
  • This class will teach the very basics of the yoga postures. Learn how to find a sustainable yoga practice for your body. Enjoy the benefits of meditation and final relaxation.

  • Aerial Yoga
  • Aerial Yoga is the practice that fuses together the two art forms of yoga and aerial dance. All classes utilize an aerial hammock that is made from a soft fabric strong enough to support our body weight (and then some!). This hammock is a wonderful tool to teach students how to align their bodies within a variety of yoga postures as well as experiencing inversions without any compression on the spine! This class is for those who are beginners to aerial yoga. 1 year of yoga experience is still necessary to attend.  Only 4 available spots in class.  Class reservations may be cancelled no later than 24 hours in advance.

  • Aerial Yoga

  • Gray Bear Retreat Additional Day
  • Treat yourself to an additional day of relaxation at Gray Bear on Thursday November 2nd. Arrive between 2-5pm. Dinner will be served at 6pm. The cost includes breakfast and lunch on Friday before the other guests arrive. Cost: $80
